Tip of the Day – 6/5/09

When preparing to feed your fish frozen foods, rinse the food with RO/DI (reverse osmosis with dionization) water. You can put the food in a fine mesh material like pantyhose or a coffee filter and simply run some water over it. Doing this will help remove the phosphates that are used in the food’s binding agent and you won’t introduce those extra nutrients into your tank.
