Tip of the Day – 7/18/09

If a coral ever starts to deteriorate, the best way to save it is to frag off the healthy tissue and essentially start over. Don’t just wait for the coral to get better, because chances are it won’t…and you will end up losing it altogether.

Tip of the Day – 7/17/09

Most people use super glue when fragging. However, when superglue cures it heats up. To help combat this heat issue, immediately dunk the drying coral frag into a cup of aquarium water. This will also help the glue dry faster.

Develop relationships with local fish store owners. Regular, friendly customers will oftentimes get good deals or first dibs on various corals and fish if the store owner is a friendly individual as well.

Tip of the Day – 7/14/09

When you put carbon into your aquarium system, make sure that the mesh bag or other container is properly sealed. If not sealed and secured into place, the container could open and spill carbon granules all over the place.
