Tip of the Day – 7/10/09

The proper alkalinity level for reef aquariums can range from 7-12 dKH. Natural seawater is around 7 dKH, but the average aquarium is well above that. A dKH around 11 will also increase coral calcification. But keep an eye on those levels, too high and it could wipe out your tank.
