Tip of the Day – 11/30/09

Mixing certain conspecifics (fish of same species) can lead to a lot of aggression. Research the fish you desire to keep, and if they are a good schooling fish, then add several at the same time. If aggression is likely, introduce only one to a tank.

Sand sifting star fish are usually purchased to clean detritus out of the sand. The problem with them though is that they need huge aquarium with well established sand beds. They will also eat various beneficial organisms living in the sand.

Tip of the Day – 11/28/09

If you develop a leak in a calcium reactor or any other acrylic device, you can easily fix the leak with Weld-On. Weld-On is a plastic adhesive that melts two pieces or two edges together to form one solid piece of plastic.
