Decorator Crab Among a Purple Forest

The guys at Coral Morphologic are at it again with the stunning aquarium videos. Recently displayed on their Morphologic Blog is this gem of a video featuring a decorator crab among the purple Asparagopsis taxiformis macroalgae. The crab in the video, as its name implies, is adorned with the purple algae allowing it to blend in. In fact, the crab goes almost unnoticed. The grazing movements of the crab are what give it away, but it’s a great disguise nonetheless.
