Oyster Eyes Closeup Video

The folks at the Morphologic Blog are back at it…this time with an extreme closeup video of the thorny oyster (Spondylus americanus). In the video, you can see the fleshy mantle and the “eyes” of the oyster. These eye-like organs are very simply, only being able to detect changes in light and movement.
