We’ve got some more good news for job seeking aquarists. Reef Tectonics recently listed a new job opening on one of those headhunter websites for an aquarium maintenance specialist position at their Denver, Colorado location. This entry level position is full-time and based on an hourly wage of $12 per, though the right amount of experience might just get you a tad more. The shift is based around regular working hours, though the position requires callouts for random aquarium mishaps. The job duties, which are laid out in more detail below, primarily include cleaning and maintaining aquariums in the homes and businesses of clients, as well as installing aquarium setups, or making on the spot repairs. A little experience is also recommended, as is an open water SCUBA certification.
Reef Tectonics is a professional aquarium maintenance and design company that provides aquarium cleaning, custom aquarium design and installation, aquarium relocation, consultation, and aquarium emergency services.
The Aquarium Maintenance Specialist will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining client and in-house aquariums, installing and moving new aquariums, completing needed repairs, traveling to client locations, visiting new potential clients to inform them of company services, and helping the team with office and warehouse-related activities.
Applicants must have basic knowledge of salt and fresh water aquatic life maintenance and aquarium set-up, be certified in open water diving, CPR and First Aid, or be capable of gaining certification, possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, and have two years’ experience, either as a fish enthusiast, aquatic maintenance technician, or with some other related background.
